Cleveland general manager Andrew Berry met his club's biggest need on Saturday by agreeing to acquire Amari Cooper in a deal with the Dallas Cowboys, a person familiar with the talks told the Associated Press on Saturday.
The Browns will send a fifth- and sixth-round draft pick to Cooper in Dallas in 2022, according to a person who spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity because the teams could not complete the deal until the new league year begins on Wednesday.
NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported the Cleveland Browns have agreed to trade for Cowboys wide receiver Amari Cooper in exchange for a 2022 fifth-round draft pick. Rapoport added that the Browns and Cowboys also are swapping 2022 sixth-round draft picks in the deal. This is absolutely ridiculous but it’s better then cutting him and getting nothing in return.
