Joe Biden suffered a dramatic blow while trying to get off his bike during a morning ride on Rehoboth Beach in Delaware on Saturday.
The 79-year-old biker stopped to talk to some well-wishers near his vacation home, but instead stunned them when he fell immediately.
Biden, who was wearing a helmet and biking gloves, then got up and reassured the audience, "I'm fine!" "I grabbed my leg," he explained.
The White House later blamed the paddle on the president's bike for the crash, claiming in a statement that "his foot got stuck in the paddle during the descent and he is OK" and "no medical assistance is required."
While most people enjoy embarrassing bike moments for relative privacy, an American president doesn't, especially when it comes to turning their smartphone cameras in front of the White House press pool.
