Oscar winner William Hart, who dominated the 1980s with his turn in classic body hits, Kiss of the Spider Woman, Children of a Laser God, and a few other actors in Broadcast News, has died. He was 71 years old.

Hart died Sunday morning at his home in Portland, Oregon, Will, one of his three sons, told the Hollywood Reporter. He did not give a cause of death.

Then, in The Big Chill (1983), directed by Hart Casdan, he became an outstanding companion as an emotionally damaged Vietnam War veteran.

He moved in 1975 to portray Edmund in an Oregon Shakespeare Festival production of Long Day's Journey into the Night.

A four-time Academy Award nominee, she starred in films such as "Body Hit", "The Big Chill", "Kiss of the Spider Woman" and "Broadcast News".
